CAIRO – 2 January 2018: The UAE will face Iraq on Tuesday at the Gulf Cup semi-finals at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium, Kuwait.The UAE depends on a strong attacking line of Ali Mabkhout, Ahmed Khaili and Omar Abdel Rahman known as Amouri to break the Iraqi defense; Iraq conceded two goals at the group stage. On the other hand, Iraq hopes to continue their unbeaten run in the tournament as they won two games at the group stage against Qatar and Yemen and they ended their game against Bahrain with a 1-1 draw.Earlier on Tuesday, Oman will host Bahrain at the semi-finals. Bahrain hopes to qualify to the finals and win the title for the first time in their history despite the expected absence of their biggest star Gamal Rashed due to injury, while Oman players hope to repeat their 2009 achievement when they won the title in Muscat. Kuwait hosts the competition between December 22 and January 5.
